Emblem Olive Oil Brings Prosperity and Abundance to Diverse Communities

By Summer Hoffman

Chasity Pritchett was working in corporate Human Resources when a coworker mentioned she had infused olive oil with peppers at home. Intrigued, Pritchett began researching, and thus opening her very own Pandora’s box. Rather than containing all the evils of the world, however, it contained something much more bountiful — all of the incredible ways we can gain from this liquid gold.

Quickly, Pritchett realized the plethora of health benefits olive oil has to offer. However, she noticed a gap — women, especially minority women, were being left out of this conversation. Therefore, in 2019, through wanting to improve the health of those in minority communities through olive oil, her company Emblem Olive Oil was born.

The mission of Emblem Olive Oil is simple — bring quality, U.S.-made olive oil to minority communities so everyone can gain from the rich health benefits olive oil has to offer. The name itself mirrors this goal, with “emblem” representing abundance, prosperity, and health within the Christian faith, something she draws upon heavily in both her personal and professional life.

Pritchett is passionate about giving the gift of olive oil and its benefits to the community. In addition to owning Emblem Olive Oil, Pritchett established the Let’s Fight Back Foundation in 2020 — a free, 12-week program which guides participants with chronic illness through the Mediterranean diet, with the aim of improving the health of all participants. Past participants have reported significant improvements in their health, including an average combined 70 lbs of weight loss per cohort and stabilized blood pressure.

Pritchett gives back to her community in other ways, as well. Through the use of social media, Pritchett has been able to grow an organic customer base. She has even attracted influencer Tabitha Brown, who uses her product because she truly loves it. On top of social media, Pritchett is consistently giving her customers new and exciting ways to use her various blends.

Overall, what Pritchett cares about is bringing the plentiful gifts that olive oil can offer us to underrepresented communities, especially African-American women. Her passion is to help aid in some of the health disparities that minority communities face through clean, quality olive oil.
